Silghat Trishuldhari, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is situated on the southern bank of the River Brahmaputra. The major attraction of the temple is the fact that it is 2000 years old. It is believed that whoever comes to seek blessings here has his or her wish granted and also lives a prosperous life. The Trishuldhari Silghat Temple gives a panoramic view of the river Brahmaputra and is like a mini paradise for nature lovers and photographers. Not only do people visit the temple for Lord Shiva but also visit it to seek the blessings of Maa Kamkhya. It is also a famous picnic spot. People come to this place to enjoy the view of the Silghat hills, Jute Mill, Kamakhya Dewalaya and spend some quality time on the bank of the river Brahmaputra. The best time to visit the temple is from October to April. The Ashok Ashtami Mela is celebrated in the first week of April every year near the Maa Kamakhya temple.
