5. Work/Service                    :-          The major functions of the department have been organization   

and Registration of Cooperative Societies, supervision, audit of accounts of Societies, inquiry and inspection of Cooperation Societies, Recovery of sums due as Cooperative demand as areas of land revenue, De-Registration and Liquidation of Non-Functioning Coop:Societies , Registration of  Money Lenders under Assam Money Lenders Act. etc. and all other works as per Govt. Job Chart.

 

6. Scheme/Project               :-          There are no any schemes/projects being implemented at

present by the Department in Nagaon District. However, the GPSS and wholesale Cooperative Societies of the District have been implementing the Govt. Sponsored schemes of NFSA Rice, MDM Rice, SNP Rice. PMGKAY etc.  

 

7. Latest Report of Scheme/Project          :-          N/A

 

8. Award/Recognition if any           :-          The Bholaguri Satra SS Ltd. and Duar Bagori SS Ltd

under Kaliabor Sub Division received the National Cooperative Excellence Award sponsored by NCDC, New Delhi in 2002 and 2004 respectively. 

These two societies of the district also Received 2^nd and 1^st prize cash award amounting to Rupees 8 lakh and Rupees 12 Lakh respectively based on best performance for the year 2016-2017.

Also, the state level society namely Assam Coop:Jute Mill Ltd. located at Silghat under Kaliabor Sub-Division received the 1^st prize cash award amounting to Rupees 12 lakh based on best performance for the year 2016-2017.
