The first Chief Minister of independent Assam, freedom fighter, Bharat Ratna, Gopinath Bardoloi's death anniversary was celebrated first ever as ‘Lok Kalyan Divas’ across the state of Assam as well as in Nagaon district. Shri Keshab Mahanta, Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Science and Technology etc. Govt. of Assam has participated in the event held at District Library, Nagaon as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by Rupak Sharma, Hon’ble MLA, Nagaon Sadar Constituency, Abhijit Nath, President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaon District Committee, Narendra Kumar Shah, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nagaon and officials of various Departments along with general public. The ‘ Loksewa Puraskar,2022’ in respect of Nagaon district were offered to five employees of Nagaon district namely Mamtaz Ansari, Anu Bora, Simanta Hazarika, Pabitra Ladur and Jayant Sharma.
